What a US virtual number is, and what it is not
A one-time US number works like any other American mobile number from the app's point of view. It receives the SMS the app sends, and you read it on screen. There is no SIM card to buy, no contract and no device to carry.
It is not a permanent line. A one-time number belongs to you for one verification window, then returns to the pool. If you will need the same number again, for logins or account recovery, rent a number instead.

Why a code might not arrive
- The app filters virtual numbers. Some services reject number ranges they classify as virtual. Cancel after 2 minutes and try a different number, or a different country.
- The app never sent the SMS. Rate limits and in-app errors stop the message before it leaves. Check the app for an error before you request another number.
- The window closed. Codes are only received while the order is active. Start the verification right after you buy.

How long do I have to receive the code?

What happens if my US number never receives the code?

Why isn't my US virtual number receiving the OTP?
Usually the app filters number ranges it classifies as virtual, or it never sent the SMS because of a rate limit or an in-app error. Check the app for an error, then cancel and try another number or another country.
What's the difference between a one-time number and a rental?
A one-time number receives one code for one app and then returns to the pool. A rental keeps the same number for a set period, so you can receive codes again for logins or account recovery.
Can I order US numbers through an API?
