SMS code not arriving: what to check

A waiting order means a code has not been recorded yet. It does not tell you whether the sending service accepted the request. Work through the order and sender checks separately so you can identify what happened without creating unnecessary repeat purchases.

Confirm the number and selected service

Open the order in your dashboard and compare its app, country and number with the details entered on the sending service. A number purchased for one app should not be assumed to receive verification for another.

Check the country prefix and any formatting guidance on the sending service. Some forms include a separate country selector; entering the prefix twice can create the wrong destination. Copy the number carefully and confirm the result before requesting another message.

Check whether the sending service accepted the request

Read any error shown by the service that should send the code. An unsupported number, a country restriction, an account issue or a sender-side waiting period can prevent an SMS from being sent at all.

Follow that service’s retry timer. Repeated requests do not guarantee faster delivery and can make it harder to tell which code is current. Delivery is not guaranteed for any individual request.

Use the order status and timer

Inspect the remaining time in the 20-minute window. A code that has arrived should appear with the order. If the window has expired, check the final state and balance history rather than continuing to use the expired number.

An expired order cannot be extended or resent, and an old number does not mean the order is still active. If you need another attempt, place a new order.

Understand expiry and balance credits

You can cancel an open order once 2 minutes have passed and no code has arrived, and the charge is credited back to your account balance. Asking for another SMS and finishing an order early are not available. If the order expires without a code, the charge is credited back to your account balance automatically. This balance credit is different from refunding a top-up payment to its original payment method, which does not happen for an expired order.

Avoid buying replacement numbers repeatedly while the first order is still open unless you intentionally need separate orders. Review the order history and balance after the order expires.

Send support enough detail to investigate

Include the order ID, selected app and country, approximate request time, and the exact error you saw. Describe whether the sender accepted the SMS request and what status the dashboard shows.

Do not send your account password, API key or authentication tokens. If you attach a screenshot, remove unrelated personal information. Support can trace an order much more reliably from its ID than from a description such as “my last number.”

Take the next step

Compare the listed app and country prices or open the API reference for integration details. For an existing order, contact support with its order ID.
